It's a bit Father Ted

It is interesting to note that while 90% of people stated
that they were Catholic in the 2006 census, a Europoll
conducted several months earlier found that just 72%
of people believe there is a God. Which appears to
suggest there are a good many Catholics in Ireland
who don't believe in God.

That's fascinating...REALLY interesting to stop and think about.

With a husband from Belfast, I've noticed that many people on both sides of the border consider "Roman Catholic" more of an ethnic identity than a religion. But to see that many call themselves Catholic then say they don't believe in God, well, wow...
